I'm Carla and I'm a photographer from Yarm in North Yorkshire. I'm actually engaged at the moment and planning a wedding with my fiancée Sam (he's quite cool and makes guitars). My favourite things in the world are dogs, Terry's chocolate oranges, Cholula hot sauce and binging on crime drama series.
In terms of my relationship with photography, I'd say it started from commandeering the family camera from a young age encouraged by my grandad, who was a photography enthusiast with his own dark room. Growing up with a camera in hand snapping away at any occasion, I was the first to study and qualify in photography at my sixth form.
After graduating with a degree in photography from the University for Creative Arts in 2014, I found my way into a role as a wedding & events manager and fell in love with weddings.
My style is to capture natural images in a documentary style, no strange posing, just relaxed and real images that will make you laugh, smile or even cry (I love a good cry!) for years to come. Whether it's a wedding, a family shoot or a business, I just love being creative and meeting lovely people. The best part of it all is getting to know people and their families, building a friendship and photographing birthdays, newborns and family shoots later down the line. It's amazing how one thing leads to another.
My other passions are skiing (definitely more Bridget Jones than Mikaela Shiffrin), going on adventures with my fiance Sam, attempting ridiculous workout classes with my sister Hannah and as I sit for endless hours editing alone in my office, I love a good podcast to keep me going - let me know if you've got any recommendations!
My latest revelation - I like a good cup of tea!!!! It's only taken me 26 years.
